Phipps Tower is a 20 story building with approximately 500,000 square feet of office and parking space. Shumate Mechanical installed equipment as specified to plans that provides adequate HVAC on each floor that would accommodate new tenant floor plans. Equipment installed included 2 BAC 2-cell cooling towers, 7 WEG pumps, 18 Trane self contained units, 8 water source heat pumps, 431 Trane terminal units (PIUs/VAVs), 6 splits systems, 4 PTACs, 34 fans, 63 electric heaters, 2 Alfa Laval heat exchangers, 18 ABB variable speed drives, a roof hood and a generator exhaust. The Alerton controls were installed by Waypoint Controls and they provide building engineers a functional solution to manage the building equipment.
